To keep the passenger compartment clean for the passengers, it is not permitted to take opened drinks on the bus, including drinking cups, which are closed with a lid or have a straw or drinking hole.

The consumption of soft drinks is regulated by subsection 72 (3) of the Public Transport Act, which stipulates that in the passenger compartment or baggage compartment of a bus or a coach, it is not permitted to carry any prohibited baggage that could harm the health or property of other persons travelling in the public transport vehicle or soil or otherwise damage the public transport vehicle. Prohibited baggage means, above all, radioactive, explosive, poisonous, corrosive, inflammable, odoriferous or soiling substances as well as substances and things without the required packaging.

Can I travel by Go Bus using a Public Transport Card, and if so, on which routes?

You can travel using the Public Transport Card without needing cash and you can do so at discounted prices on all Go Bus county and long-distance buses. With the money on the Public Transport Card, you can buy tickets for long-distance Go Bus routes at a -5% discount both from the bus driver and online, and the Public Transport Card does not need to be personalised to do so.

When you travel on free-of-charge routes, you need to have a Public Transport Card to validate your journey with the bus driver after informing them of your destination.

All electronic contactless Public Transport Cards in use in Estonia function as means of payment.

When travelling by bus, you might still need to take some cash with you because if the Public Transport Card or payment terminal does not work on the bus for some reason, the passenger is obliged to buy a ticket from the bus driver for cash.

You can find all the information about buying a Public Transport Card, loading money on it and personalising it here at pilet.ee.
